One of the most significant documents in American history, the Declaration of Independence, was signed in 1776. In 2026, the United States will celebrate its 250th birthday—known as the Semi quincentennial. This nationwide commemoration, led by America250, honors the signing of the Declaration and invites Americans to reflect on the nation’s past while looking toward the future.  As this historic milestone approaches, May feels like the perfect time to consider the importance of preserving our own stories. A handwritten journal, a heartfelt letter, or a signature on a meaningful document all become part of our personal history. The tools we use to create those moments matter.
